Please be aware that the roadside hedges are due to be cut back in the next week or so by a tractor and hedge-cutter. This work is to allow clear line of sight on roads and on pavements, allow pedestrians to walk safely. We are undertaking this work in February as all berries have been eaten by birds and the leaves have fallen which allows the operator to see the line of cutting more easily. It is also before the bird nesting season and is the environmentally more friendly time to do it.
Please be careful if you encounter the tractor and allow plenty of space to overtake.
The hedges may look a little 'bare' after the haircut but please be assured that they will bounce back with health and vigour as this is an essential maintenance for hedgerows.
