As publicised previously, the Parish Council are aware that Anglian Water have been working on a project which will replace the mains pipe to improve the water supply in the village.
Such a significant piece of work will result in challenges for the community in the coming months while this work is implemented, so the Parish Council has for quite a while been keeping an open dialogue with a number of Senior Anglian Water Officers who will be managing the works. They have also been in contact with the local authority to discuss the work, as well as engaged with local business who might be affected and have also contacted the school.
Renhold Parish Council welcomed three Anglian Water Officers to their most recent meeting on Monday 21st November, where they presented more details on the works, including the types of construction that would be used, the traffic management during the works and welcoming questions as well as feedback on the proposals.
Those present were able to openly engage and express any concerns or worries regarding the works, with Anglian Water Officers taking on board feedback including worry over hard road blocks being in place and whether there is any possibility footways could remain open during the works. Site safety is paramount naturally, however, Officers did welcome such feedback so that they could understand concerns from the community and are working on how to keep pedestrian access open during the works.
Anglian Water will shortly be circulating the attached letter to affected residents as well as welcoming residents to come along to ask any questions at a further event where Officers and Engineers will be present to answer questions. Residents are encouraged to attend the Village Hall on Monday 12th December 2022 2pm to 7pm to raise any items directly with the Anglian Water team.
It is appreciated there will be many challenges with delivering such a scheme given the nature of the works, and the Parish Council are engaging on a regular basis on this important local matter and will continue to do so in the coming days, weeks and months.
