Renhold Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Result Declared

The results of the referendum on the Renhold Neighbourhood Plan have now been formally declared following the poll held on Thursday 5 March 2026. Residents were asked the following question: “Do you want Bedford Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Renhold to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

The results of the referendum on the Renhold Neighbourhood Plan have now been formally declared following the poll held on Thursday 5 March 2026.

Residents were asked the following question:

“Do you want Bedford Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Renhold to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Voting Results

  • Votes in favour (Yes): 503

  • Votes against (No): 61

A total of564 voteswere cast in the referendum.

The electorate for the referendum was2,488, resulting in a turnout of 22.6%.

Outcome

The majority of those who voted supported the proposal. As a result, the referendum outcome confirms that the Renhold Neighbourhood Plan will now be used by Bedford Borough Council when determining planning applications within the neighbourhood area.

The official result was declared byLesley Blue, Deputy Counting Officer, on behalf of Bedford Borough Council on Thursday 5 March 2026.
